Seller: thegovtmule (2,557) 100%, Location: Thomasville, Georgia, Ships to: US, Item: 302960079593 C. 1920 Samuel C. Osborn Sammo Mandolin - Masonic Temple Chicago. All tuners are working and was able to tune the instrument up to pitch - strings have not been changed. Abalone inlay fret markers - body binding tight all the way around. There is some relief in the neck but does not seem excessive. Was kept indoors and I see no indications of heat damage although I think a previous repair was done to it at some point. Flaws - The thirteenth fret seems to be high. Notes fret normally from the nut up to the sixth fret then start to go dead to varying degrees. Used a fret-rocker and #13 seems to be the problem. I have not attempted any repairs on this. Appears to have an old glue repair along the bottom seam on the back. Shows a lot of crazing in the finish as would be expected. Has several dings on the sides and some very light wear marks on the top soundboard. Soundboard is a little concave from the bridge to the back end but this may be normal. Very light wear marks on the bottom. Tiny chip missing on the bridge near a string slot - doesn't affect play. Seems a little dry and the fret edges can be felt when you run your hand up and down the neck. Cardboard hard case shows wear and some dings.
